Verbal SMS consent process
How operators give permission
This document describes Is for Hire’s verbal opt-in workflow for account notifications and customer care. It is the public script and process used during onboarding, not evidence that a particular person has already agreed. Messaging begins only after sender approval and testing.
- During an onboarding phone call, the Is for Hire representative confirms the business, the authorized contact, and the mobile number to which texts would be sent. Public business listings and an agreement to a trial are not SMS permission.
- The representative reads the full SMS script below, separately from the trial question, and offers the terms and privacy links by email. If the operator wants time to review, the representative waits and obtains the answer afterward. No SMS is sent to obtain permission.
- The representative records the operator’s explicit Yes or No in the private CRM. The consent record includes the confirmed mobile number, business/contact identity, the answer, representative identity, timestamp, script version, and exact words of the script. This is a written record of the verbal response; audio recording is not required by this process.
- A No answer leaves SMS unavailable and does not prevent trial setup. Email remains available for service updates. An unanswered question is not consent. A new number or changed consent identity requires a new permission record.
- SMS is enabled only after the sender is approved, configured and tested, and only for a recipient with recorded permission. A STOP request suppresses further texts. Earlier records are retained with their original wording; this document does not retroactively change any operator’s permission.
Exact script read aloud
Replace the two bracketed fields with the confirmed business name and mobile number. Read the complete script, including the policy addresses, before requesting the answer.
May Is for Hire send automated account and service text messages for [business name] to your confirmed mobile number [confirmed mobile number] from +1 (866) 631-2008? These include onboarding and assistant activation updates, trial and account status, lead alerts and summaries, and two-way customer support. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or email support@isforhire.com. SMS permission is optional and is not a condition of purchase or starting your trial; you can use email for service updates instead. This permission does not include marketing messages. Our SMS terms are at www.isforhire.com/operator-messaging/terms and our SMS privacy policy is at www.isforhire.com/operator-messaging/privacy. I can email those links for you to review before you decide. Do you agree to receive these texts?
Record the answer
Record Yes only after the operator explicitly agrees. Record No if they decline. If the answer is unclear, ask for clarification; do not treat silence as agreement. Save the response in the CRM permissions step with the confirmed contact details.
A representative can acknowledge a Yes with: “Thank you. I have recorded your permission for Is for Hire’s account and service texts. You can reply STOP at any time.” For a No: “That’s fine. I have recorded that you do not want SMS. We can use email for service updates.”
These are illustrative acknowledgments, not customer transcripts. No private contact information or actual consent records are published here.
